Cai Owen set for 100th appearance
CAI OWEN is set to make his 100th appearance for the Seagulls in Friday evening’s home game against newly promoted Llay Miners Welfare (7:45pm).
Cai, who made his debut against Ruthin Town in the curtailed 2019/20 season, has started all three of Bay’s games so far and although he hasn’t added to his six goals for the club he is one of the most experienced players in what is generally a young squad.
Llay were beaten 5-3 at home by Ruthin Town on Tuesday after leading 3-1 at one stage and are still looking for their first league win, but cannot be taken lightly.
Looking ahead to Friday’s game, Bay assistant manager Danny Harrison said after Tuesday’s excellent win over Holywell Town: “We need to back this performance up and that’s the message we’ll be looking to get over to the lads.”
Rhys Lloyd looks set to make his full debut in goal in place of suspended Rhys Williams and with Lewi Sirrell still suspended, the Bay have a couple of injury concerns that need to be assessed before finalising their match day squad.
