Man hospitalized after Wednesday night Port Barre shooting

PORT BARRE, La. (KLFY) -- An unidentified man is in the hospital after being shot Wednesday night in Port Barre, authorities said.
Port Barre police responded at approximately 8:43 p.m. Wednesday to a report of shots fired at the corner of Saizan Avenue and Park Street. Police found a 19-year-old man on the ground with a gunshot wound to the neck.
The victim was taken to an area hospital and is in stable condition, officials said.
This incident is actively under investigation. Louisiana State Police Crime Scene Units are assisting the Port Barre Police.
