NYC Dominican Day Parade 2024: Date, time, route
MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) – The 42nd annual National Dominican Day Parade kicks off Sunday, promising bright floats and good music along Sixth Avenue in Manhattan.
This year’s parade, themed “Merengue: Nuestro Ritmo,” will celebrate Merengue and its impact on Dominican identity.
“Merengue [is] more than just music—it’s a vital part of our cultural fabric, embodying joy, resilience, and the community spirit deeply rooted in Dominican identity,” organizers wrote on the National Dominican Day Parade’s website.

When is the National Dominican Day Parade?
The parade will kick off at 12 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, at Sixth Avenue and 37th Street in Manhattan.
What is the parade route?
The Dominican Day Parade will run along Sixth Avenue from 37th Street to 55th Street.
Floats & Honorees
Los Hermanos Rosario, who are performing at the sold-out gala on Friday, will serve as Grand Marshals of the parade, and Pedro Brache Álvarez, CEO of Grupo Rica, will be the Padrino. Actor Jochy Santos will be crowned King of the Parade, with rapper Bulín 47 taking the title of International King.
"Together, they embody the spirit and enthusiasm of the Dominican community," organizers said.
Along the route, decorated floats will represent groups like Goya, President Beer, NYC Football Club, Camali Music Group. Marching on will be performers, including La Fuerza Dance Studio and Ballet Folklorico Xiomara Cabrera.
