Body found in Bronx apartment was frozen; hands were in Crock-Pot: sources

THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) – A body discovered in a Bronx apartment during an investigation into human remains found in Yonkers was frozen, sources told PIX11 News.

Legs were found in a freezer, while hands were discovered in a Crock-Pot full of bleach, according to sources. Guns and drugs were also found in the apartment, per sources.

A person of interest was identified, according to sources.

Human remains were found burned in a shopping cart near the Oak Street bridge in Yonkers on Monday, according to authorities. An investigation into those remains led the NYPD to the Bronx apartment on Rogers Place.

Sources told PIX11 News that a torso and head were found in Yonkers. They were allegedly brought there on a Metro-North train that stopped at Mount Vernon, according to sources.

Police are looking into if the human remains belong to the same person. It's believed that the human remains found in Yonkers were dumped there, according to authorities.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
