Man arrested for stealing cables

A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with two cases of theft and causing malicious damage to property.

The police said the man appears to be involved in two cases of stealing various cables from a worksite and an Electricity Authority meter room in Famagusta in April and May.

The cables were worth €500 and damage caused was €270.

The 25-year-old was arrested on Wednesday night and remanded to facilitate questioning.
