UPDATE: All clear given in Norman after large police presence at hospital

UPDATE @ 4:12 p.m. - (CLEVELAND COUNTY, Okla.) - Police officials have confirmed that around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, CCSO Dispatch received a call about a potential shooting threat at Red Rock Behavioral Health Services. CCSO, South Metro SWAT, and other local law enforcement agencies responded to the scene. Authorities say, although the threat was deemed credible, there was no active shooter or agitating person on campus.

CCSO detectives at this time believe the threat originated from a former patient of the facility, who had made credible threats against the staff. The caller’s number was obtained and CCSO deputies and detectives are currently investigating. No further information has been released at this time.

UPDATE @3:35 p.m. - Authorities on the scene say the police presence is now winding down in Norman. From the air KFOR Pilot Mason Dunn reports officials are beginning to leave the scene.

Currently, it is still unknown what prompted the swift action from area law enforcement. We will bring you updates when they are available.

NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) - Norman Police Department says, say there is a large police presence outside of Griffin Hospital.

Police confirm that there are no reports of injuries and that there are reports of an active shooter.
