Just days left to bag Greggs double stamps and get free food quicker – how the discount scheme works

JUST a few days remain to take advantage of Greggs’ double stamp loyalty scheme which lets pastry lovers eat for free.

The sausage roll specialist launched Happier Hours, which lets app users earn double stamps for all purchases made after 5pm, on July 8 this year.

The offer applies to items across the Greggs menu so you can load up on stamps whether you’re a sausage roll lover or a doughnut devotee.

After 5pm fans will receive two stamps for every purchase made, rather than one.

For every nine stamps collected customers can redeem any Greggs menu item for free.

With the new deal, for every five visits you make to the bakery you would receive a free item of your choice.

But the offer will only be available via the Greggs app until Saturday 10 August, meaning sausage roll celebrants need to get a move on to take advantage of the deal.

You can cash your stamps in against any menu item so items you could claim include a sausage roll, steak bake, yum yum, bacon roll, doughnut, éclair, cookie, ham and cheese toastie or potato wedges.

Those signed up through the Greggs app also receive a free drink when they sign up as well as a free sweet treat on their birthday.

Greggs has more than 1,200 shops open until 7pm and beyond, and you can find the closest to you via its website.

You can download the app via the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Using the Greggs app will allow you to gain rewards, even when the Happier Hours offer ends.

When you scan your app at the till you’ll gain stamps for every purchase made.

When you’ve collected nine stamps you will be able to redeem a free item from the menu.

The app also allows you to place an order to collect in store, so you can dodge the queue.

You’ll also get a free hot drink for signing up and a free sweet treat on your birthday.

How else to save money at Greggs

Greggs superfan Tony Collins previously revealed his top tips for saving money on your next trip.

He said to make the most of outlet stores, that sell baked goods at knockdown prices, usually because they’re a day old.

The chain says the food is still fresh and a percentage of the profits goes to charity.

How much you’ll save varies, Tony revealed, but he said he usually gets around 20% off compared to normal prices.
