Martin’s Gems to launch new fine jewellery collection in Mayfair
Martin Prinsloo, the master gemstone cutter of London and founder of Martin’s Gems, is set to launch his new fine jewellery collection on 30 August 2024 at the Chesterfield Hotel in Mayfair.
“The gem makes the jewel” is what Prinsloo strongly believes, this motto then was also the focal point of the new jewellery designs.
The collection features 21 fine jewellery pieces, all 18ct gold with natural diamonds and precision cut gemstones.
Each designed and manufactured piece of jewellery showcases these “exceptional” custom cut gemstones.
The launch of the new collection follows Martin’s Gems partnership with The British Academy of Jewellery (BAJ).
Prinsloo has a background in diamond mining and gemstone prospecting. He is also a member of the UKFCG, (United Kingdom Facet Cutters Guild) where he was awarded a Certificate of “Advance Cutter” status.
The criteria for this Advance Cutter Certificate are to satisfy the judging committee regarding cutting competence, and for attaining a minimum of 85% with two stones, in approved competitions or by assessment. Prinsloo’s actual scores for the two stones were 87.00% and 90.08% respectively.
Prinsloo said: “The UK market is starved of beautiful exceptionally cut and presented gemstones in jewellery and that by introducing the concept of ‘The Gem makes the Jewel’ to the industry the whole notion of beautiful unique jewellery will take a new meaning.”
