Home damaged after two-vehicle crash in Topeka

TOPEKA (KSNT) - The Topeka Fire Department (TFD) said more than $20,000 worth of damage was caused after a vehicle hit a local residence.

At 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 6, the TFD was called to respond to a two-vehicle crash in the 2900 block of SW Burlingame Road. When firefighters arrived they found one person who needed to be taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The TFD said it found damage to a gas meter and shut off the gas to the residence. Kansas Gas Service was contacted following the discovery.

The TFD said the Topeka Police Department, AMR, Kansas Gas and Evergy all assisted in the incident. A total of $20,000 in damages was caused to the home with $1,000 in damage done to contents.
