Hunter Schafer Hints at Reasons Why She & Dominic Fike Broke Up

Hunter Schafer is speaking out about her relationship with Euphoria co-star Dominic Fike.

The pair confirmed their relationship early 2022, but seemingly had split by the summer of 2023.

Now, during an interview on “Call Her Daddy,” Hunter is speaking out about the relationship.

“It’s one of the cleaner breakups I’ve had. We both recognized that this is not working, and we can’t do this. We got to go our own separate ways. It was so, so hard because we really loved each other. He’s a really special person and I love his soul and everything,” Hunter shared.

She did add that the things got “messy” for a time but ultimately, there’s no issue between them now.

“It was a clean parting, and he has a lot to work on,” Hunter said. “I also have a lot to work on. I think that’s also why I’m in this era of, I gotta figure my sh-t out. We had a really good thing. But there were things in our own selves that had nothing to do with each other that kept coming up in the way of the relationship.”

Hunter then reflected on having a public relationship, sharing, “I don’t know if I’ll ever do it again. At some point when you’re doing it, it gets just too hard. You can try to hide it, but I’ve also come to this point just with fame in general, where, like, people are going to say what they’re going to say. I really don’t give a sh-t.”

Hunter continued, “The thing that’s tough with musicians — or at least with successful musicians who are doing tours and stuff — and I guess it’s the same thing with actors. They have to go off for however many months [on] tour and then I’m working. It’s very hard. I don’t know if that is, like, in my path again, because I’ve done it and I’ve tried it and really tried to make it work. It’s just very hard. At least at this point in my life, I don’t have the capacity to, like, figure out how that works. Maybe someday, though. We’ll see.”
