Penguins Foundation awards scholarships to 10 local high school students

Each scholarship is worth $3,000 for the student’s first year and an additional $2,000 for the second year.

Ten high school graduates have been awarded scholarships from the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation.

Each PPF scholarship is valued at $3,000 for the student’s first year of college.

An $2,000 is available for the second year of college if a 3.0 GPA is maintained and a minimum of 24 credit hours are earned.

The following students have received scholarships this year:

  • Ethan James Bell - Pittsburgh Science & Technology - University of Pittsburgh
  • Christian Cole - CAPA - Gannon University
  • Isabel Concepcion - Woodland Hills - University of Pittsburgh
  • Marjani Howze-Jetter - Pittsburgh Obama - Temple University
  • Elena McCutcheon - Allegheny Valley - Penn State University
  • Caroline McDevitt - Penn Hills - Penn State University @ Erie
  • Kendall McKelvey - Northgate - Oberlin College
  • Leah Spencer - Cornell - Staffordshire University @ UK
  • Isabella Ruston - Steel Valley - Penn State University
  • Ava Rose Waleko - Pittsburgh Science & Technology - American University @ DC

The Penguins Foundation has awarded nearly 175 scholarships over the past decade in partnership with UPMC.

This year, the Penguins Foundation supported six different scholarship programs, awarding $109,000 to 37 Pittsburgh-area students.
