Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, she embarked on her acting career in the early 1980s and quickly rose to fame with her debut in Wes Craven’s cult favourite.

Heather battled Freddy Krueger as the teenage protagonist, which earned her a dedicated fanbase in the horror genre.

She reprised her role in several sequels, including A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors in 1987 and Wes Craven’s New Nightmare in 1994.

Beyond the franchise, Heather has enjoyed a career on both the big and small screens.

She appeared in the 2012 horror film The Butterfly Room as well as the sci-fi blockbuster, Star Trek Into Darkness in 2013.

Outside of acting, she has also made contributions behind the scenes as a special effects makeup artist.

Alongside her husband, David LeRoy Anderson, she co-owns AFX Studio, a special effects makeup company.

Their work has been featured in numerous films and shows, showcasing her expertise in the industry.

Heather and David had two children, daughter Isabella and a son named Daniel, who passed away from complications related to a brain tumor in 2018 at the age of 26.

In recent years, Heather’s career has seen a resurgence.
