Man arrested for attacking officer

Police in Limassol arrested a 20-year-old man who allegedly attacked officers shortly after midnight on Wednesday during a crime prevention check.

According to a statement, police officers noticed an individual pushing a motorcycle with the engine off. When officers approached him, he physically attacked one of them, pushing him away.

When informed that he was being arrested for the act of assaulting a police officer, the 20-year-old reportedly began shouting and insulting the officers. He also reportedly attacked a second officer present at the scene.

The man attempted to start his motorcycle to flee, while continuing to act threateningly towards the police officers. He was arrested and taken into custody to facilitate further investigations.
