The 2024 Cyprus Kitesurfing Championship, also known as ‘King of Kite’ which took place between August 2 and 4, saw the participation of 120 athletes from Cyprus and abroad and over 2000 spectators.

The event took place at the Kahuna Surfhouse on Softades beach in Kiti. Thanks to favourable weather conditions, attendees enjoyed aerial manoeuvres, massive jumps, high speeds, and spectacular water acrobatics across ten different categories, including freestyle and big air.

The host of the competition was Red Bull professional kiteboarder Maxime Chabloz, who also performed during the two-day event.

Since 2013, the ‘King of Kite’ has become an established event at the Kahuna Surfhouse, recognised as the top kitesurfing championship and has positioned Cyprus high on the global kitesurfing map as an ideal destination for enthusiasts of the sport.

Kitesurfing combines the techniques of windsurfing, surfing, and wakeboarding, and for the first time this year, the sport was included in the program of the Paris Olympic Games.
