Three arrested for car part theft in Paphos
Police arrested three persons aged 27, 33 and 40 years old on Monday and Tuesday for an investigated case of car parts theft.
According to the police, on Monday evening, a 69-year-old man reported to the Polis Chrysochous police that earlier, around 5pm, he had arrived to find trespassers on his property at his spare parts warehouse, between Argaka and Makounda.
Two men were inside a fenced area and a third was outside, the complainant told police.
When the 69-year-old entered his field, the man outside the fenced area fled while the others remained at the site.
Officers from Polis arrived at the scene and identified one intruder as a 40-year-old permanent resident. He was arrested shortly after 11pm and taken into custody for evident crimes.
The person who fled was identified as a 27-year-old permanent resident and the third as a 33-year-old.
Police secured warrants against all three individuals. The 33-year-old was arrested at 2.30 on Tuesday morning.
The two arrested men, aged 40 and 33, appeared before the Paphos District Court on Tuesday, which issued one-day detention orders against them. Later on Tuesday, the 27-year-old was also arrested and taken into custody.
In a car near the premises, police found ten gearboxes which the complainant identified as his.
Paphos police are furthering the investigation.
