For up-to-date evacuations, check Jefferson County's online map or check the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.

The update comes one day after Gov. Tina Kotek invoked the Emergency Conflagration Act for the Elk Lane Fire and Telephone Fire in Harney County.

A temporary evacuation site has been set up at Madras High School with Red Cross assisting on the scene. Evacuated animals are being sheltered at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.
