Rivers Casino donates $8K to Regional Food Bank
LATHAM, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Rivers Casino and Resort made an $8,000 donation to the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York's mission of collecting and distributing food to 900 agencies to feed residents. The donation was raised during the casino and resorts' Donations Make a Difference campaign in June.
Guests at the casino donated cash, chips, and vouchers to raise funds, and Regional Food Bank CEO Tom Nardacci said they are not only grateful for the donation but also appreciative of the campaign. "Thanks to the generosity of Rivers' patrons, more than 32,000 meals will be provided to our neighbors in need during a time when it is greatly needed," Nardacci said.
Rivers Casino and Resort Vice President of Human Resources Linda Waters said they were thrilled to donate and that guests and volunteers were willing to help neighboring communities. "The Regional Food Bank is a wonderful organization, and the entire Rivers Gives team, along with our generous guests, are always happy to support its critical work," she said.
