Teen arrested in Amsterdam shots fired incident

AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A male under 18 was arrested in connection to a shots fired incident on Lincoln Avenue in Amsterdam. The incident initially took place on June 22 at 10 p.m.

Police say an investigation, using surveillance footage and other evidence, led them to the arrest of the juvenile. At the time of the crime, his age qualified him to be considered a juvenile under NYS Raise the Age legislation and his name will not be released.

Charges:

• Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
• First-degree reckless endangerment

He was arraigned in Montgomery County Youth Part Court. He was remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility without bail. The investigation is still active and ongoing and additional arrests are possible. There are no injuries or damage to property reported in this incident.
