Human remains found at Bronx apartment searched after Yonkers killing: NYPD
BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) -- Human remains and drug paraphernalia were found at a Bronx apartment officials searched in connection with body parts found burning in Yonkers Monday, according to the NYPD.
Police found drug paraphernalia, a gun and human remains in an apartment on Rogers Place Monday just before midnight, according to the NYPD.
An investigation into a torso and head found near the Oak Street bridge is what led officials to the Rogers Place apartment, sources told PIX11 News.
Officials believe the bridge was a "dump site" for a body that had been put in a shopping cart and set on fire, and the death is likely a homicide, according to the City of Yonkers Police Department.
It was not immediately clear how the two incidents were connected, and detectives are looking into whether the body parts and remains found at both locations belong to the same person. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death in both incidents, police said.
