Seasonal temps return Tuesday, summer heat builds in Oregon
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Seasonal summer temperatures return to the Portland-Vancouver metro area Tuesday as rain remains absent.
A few morning clouds will help slow the warming process in western Oregon and southwest Washington Tuesday. Afternoon highs will warm to near average conditions with temperatures sitting in the low to mid 80s. Afternoon sunshine will be in abundance as hazy hugs the horizon.
Wildfire smoke from more northerly wildfires will slowly work its way back into the Portland- Vancouver metro area by Wednesday. That coincides with the next round of summer heat that peaks Thursday.
Temperatures will once again sit above average by the end middle of the week and take the Portland area through the weekend. This comes as the lack of rainfall nears two weeks around Oregon and Washington.
Oregon drought will likely continue to worsen as high heat continues to dry out the landscape. Oregon and Washington's wildfire threat remains elevated through the end of the week due to the lack of rainfall and building heat.
