Cadbury confirms ‘best chocolate bar ever’ WON’T come back after shoppers sob ‘it’s the only thing we need

CADBURY has confirmed it still has no plans to relaunch its ‘best chocolate bar ever’ more than 19 years after its upheaval.

A popular snack has had chocolate lovers in sweet treat turmoil ever since Cadbury stopped its production in 2005.

Now, in a recent statement to Sky News, it has confirmed that the famous Spira bar will not be returning to the shelves any time soon.

Cadbury went on to explain: “We continuously adapt our product range to ensure it meets changing tastes whilst supporting growth for our customers and our business,” a spokesperson said.

“Our Spira bars were discontinued several years ago but we still have plenty of other delicious sharing bags for consumers to choose from!”

Despite it being nearly two decades since their production ceased, customers have not forgotten the snack’s swirly goodness.

With a Facebook page supporting the mighty milk chocolate return amassing over 35k followers, Cadburys statement may come as a blow to Spira fans.

Not to mention the plethora of petitions demanding the confectionery makes a comeback.

ICONIC CHOCOLATES THAT HAVE LEFT SHOP SHELVES

Cadbury’s Dream Chocolate bar: The popular bar was discontinued in 2002, but was relaunched in 2019 under the new name ‘Cadbury White’.

Mars Delight Bar: Although it proved to be a firm favourite by sweet-toothed fans during it’s four-year stint in shops starting in 2004, by 2008 it was removed from shop shelves. Fans still long to see the treat make a return.

Nestlé’s Caramac chocolate bar: The one-of-a-kind bar had been in shops for over six decades, but it was discontinued last year due to continual slumps in sales.

Milky Way Crispy Rolls: They were pulled from shelves in 2022, and fans were so distraught by the news that a petition was started to bring them back, which currently has over 8,500 signatures.

White Maltesers: The white chocolate version of the popular snack had a strong run lasting 11 years, but falling sales condemned them to be discontinued in 2014.

The semi-hollow twin bars were moulded in a spiral shape, creating an airy, crumbly, and smooth texture.

Nostalgic shoppers were quick to remind each other how the bars were multifunctional as well.

One reader said: “Cadbury Spira was and remains the best chocolate bar ever.

“With experience, you can drink your hot drink through this chocolate straw, melt the inside perfectly and the outside will still be intact. It needs skill but it can only be achieved with the Spira.”

The family favourite first made an appearance in 1989 and was an instant classic.

The Spira bar unfortunately was then discontinued 16 years later after the confectionary company couldn’t keep up with demand.

Cadburys devastating confirmation follows a comment it left on X (formerly Twitter) earlier this year.

Replying to chocolate lover Sarah, the organisation tweeted it ‘have no plans to bring back the Cadbury Spira.’

It seems that the chocolate bar’s legendary status will prevent it from being forgotten, but the illustrious chocolate brand is sticking to its guns with this one.
