IIT Indore develops shoes that generate electricity, track location in real time for Armed forces

IIT Indore has developed innovative shoes for soldiers that generate electricity and track real-time locations, enhancing their safety and efficiency. These shoes, incorporating Tribo-Electric Nanogenerator (TENG) technology, produce electricity with every step, storing it in the soles for small appliances. Additionally, equipped with GPS and RFID, the shoes provide real-time location tracking. The first batch of ten pairs has been supplied to the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), marking a significant advancement in military gear technology.
