Man and off-duty police officer, struck by vehicle in Harlem: sources

HARLEM, Manhattan (PIX11) -- Two men were hit by a truck in Harlem on Monday night, according to police.

A woman was driving a truck around 5 p.m. when a 52-year-old man and a second man were hit, according to police, near West 148th Street and St. Nick Avenue.

Sources told PIX11 News the second man hit was an off-duty police officer walking to work.

The driver said she thought the truck was in reverse when it was actually still in drive, according to sources.

Police said the driver stayed at the accident, and both men were taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
