Troy man arrested on fentanyl, cocaine sale charges
TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office (RCSO) reported the arrest of a Troy man following an extensive drug investigation. Elijah Brewington, 32, is facing multiple felony charges.
Brewington is accused of selling fentanyl and cocaine out of an apartment at the Peter M. Guenette veteran’s senior citizen housing complex on 115th Street in Troy. In connection to a longstanding investigation, multiple agencies executed a search warrant at the apartment on August 2.
According to the RCSO, nearly four and a half ounces of cocaine and fentanyl were recovered during the search, as well as packaging materials, scales, and over $10,000 in cash. Brewington was taken into custody without incident following the search and faces the following charges:
- Two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
- Two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
- Criminal use of drug paraphernalia
Brewington was arraigned at the Troy City Court before being remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail without bail.
