Ryan Gosling Seen With Eva Mendes and Children at Olympics in Rare Public Outing

Ryan Gosling was spotted at the Paris Olympics over the weekend in an extremely rare public outing with his wife, Eva Mendes, and their two daughters.

Gosling and Mendes were photographed on Sunday afternoon as they watched the equestrian dressage individual Grand Prix freestyle at the Palace of Versailles. They were later seen at the women's uneven bars final at Bercy Stadium, which they attended with their daughters—nine-year-old Esmerelda and eight-year-old Amada.

NBC Los Angeles reported that it is the first time in nearly a decade that Mendes and Gosling have been photographed in public together. The couple, who met on the set of the 2012 thriller The Place Beyond the Pines, have kept a low profile but have continued to support one another behind the scenes.

Mendes retired from acting 10 years ago to focus on her family. Her last acting role to date, except for a one-episode cameo on Bluey, was in Gosling’s 2014 directorial debut, Lost River. She rarely attends industry events, but was backstage at this year’s Oscars ceremony as Gosling, nominated for his turn in Barbie, performed a show-stopping rendition of “I’m Just Ken.”

“You took Ken all the way to the Oscars, RG,” Mendes captioned an image of herself wearing Gosling’s costume from the performance. “Now come home, we need to put the kids to bed.”

In 2017, while accepting a Golden Globe for his leading role in La La Land, Gosling thanked Mendes for her sacrifices in the name of his career.

“While I was singing and dancing and playing piano and having one of the best experiences I’ve ever had on a film,” Gosling said, “my lady was raising our daughter, pregnant with our second, and trying to help her brother fight his battle with cancer.”

In May, Mendes told People that Gosling supports her “in all the ways I need to be supported” with their family and otherwise. “He’s got me in all the ways,” she said.
