Michael Norman, former standout at Vista Murrietta High and USC, had the fastest time in Sunday’s six qualifying heats in the men’s 400 meters at the Paris Olympics.
Norman ran a season-best 44.10 seconds and U.S. teammate Quincy Hall had the second best time of the day at 44.28. Norman’s mark was also the fastest time in the Olympics’ first round ever recorded. Norman will compete in the semifinals on Tuesday and, if he advances, in the finals on Wednesday.
