Off-duty correction officer shoots teen mugger who took his cellphone on NYC street: cops

Ryan Straker, 19, punched the off-duty officer – a 54-year-old man – and ripped off his cell phone during the hold-up around noon on Snediker Avenue near Linden Boulevard in Brownsville, according to authorities and law enforcement sources.
