Bowen Yang (‘Saturday Night Live’): 2024 Emmys episode submission revealed
Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Bowen Yang is entering the “Saturday Night Live” episode titled “Host: Emma Stone” as his 2024 Emmy Award submission for Best Comedy Supporting Actor. “Host: Emma Stone” aired on December 2, 2023 and is the sixth episode of the NBC show’s 49th season.
In this installment, Yang once again portrays disgraced Congressman George Santos, aka the “proud gay thief,” in the cold open. Later, the “SNL” cast member appears as a record label executive for Mama Cass (Chloe Troast), a keyboard player at a tree lighting gig alongside Stone and Kenan Thompson, and a singer who goes “fully naked in New York” with Stone on a garbage truck.
This year marks the fourth career Emmy nomination for Yang. For this 2024 Emmys contest, he is competing against Lionel Boyce (“The Bear”), Paul W. Downs (“Hacks”), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (“The Bear”), Paul Rudd (“Only Murders in the Building”) and Tyler James Williams (“Abbott Elementary”).
“Saturday Night Live” received 17 total 2024 Emmy Award nominations, including Best Scripted Variety Series.
