Rs 10 lakh crore wiped off! US recession fears, among other factors behind today's bloodbath

Sensex and Nifty plummeted as US recession fears caused investors to retreat from risk assets. Sensex opened over 2,400 points down, while Nifty fell below 24,300. All major sectoral indices were in the red, driven by economic uncertainties and geopolitical issues. Market capitalisation dropped by Rs 10.24 lakh crore.
