Olympics | Sjostrom wins women's 50m freestyle gold at Paris Games (updated)

PARIS, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Sweden's Sarah Sjostrom claimed her third Olympic gold medal by powering to victory in the women's 50m freestyle final at the Paris Games on Sunday.

Sjostrom, who set a new Olympic record of 23.66 seconds in her semifinal on Saturday, touched the wall in 23.71 at La Defense Arena.

Australia's Meg Harris took silver in 23.97 and China's Zhang Yufei grabbed bronze in 24.20.
