All Waqf Boards in states, Centre to have two women

The draft amendment to the Wakf Act 1995 proposes significant changes, including mandatory registration of Waqf properties with district collectors for valuation and judicial scrutiny to determine their status. the Union Cabinet approved a bill containing about 40 amendments, such as limiting waqf boards' property claims and ensuring proper use for poor Muslims. It took recommendations from committees like the Sachar Committee and the K Rahman Khan-led joint parliamentary committee. It aims to address concerns raised by State Waqf Boards and the All India Muslim Personal Law Board.
