Buffalo officer acquitted in use of force case

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Buffalo police officer Adrian Neal was acquitted earlier this week in a use of force case from 2022 due to a lack of evidence, as reported Sunday morning by The Buffalo News.

Defense attorney Rodney Personius, of Personius Melber LLP, confirmed the report in an email to WIVB.

"This is a textbook example of the crucial importance of body worn camera footage, which exposed the fantasized allegations of the arrestee," Personius said. "Properly presented, this footage demonstrated the correctness of Officer Neal’s actions throughout the encounter. The jury is to be commended for its courageous verdict after deliberating for less than 90 minutes."
