SHOPPERS can’t wait to snap up a new Cadbury chocolate that’s a spin on a Christmas classic.

Chocoholics are rushing out to buy the share bags of mini Cadbury Puds that comes with smaller versions of the popular festive snack.

The original was first taken off shelves in 2002 before returning in late 2021 and being reintroduced again in 2022.

The snack combines Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate with a truffle centre, hazelnut pieces and rice crisps.

But the new version has caught the eyes of shoppers online after the Newfoodsuk Facebook page posted a photo of the share bag on its feed.

Commenting on the post, one said: “I know I would eat the whole bag.”

Meanwhile, a second shopper added: “OMG I NEED THIS I LOVE THEM.”

A third piped up “oh my lord I will keep my peepers peeled” while a fourth simply said “uh oh xx”.

Anyone looking to snap up the 73g bag of mini Christmas puddings can only currently buy them direct off Cadbury’s website for £1.98, with standard delivery costing from £3.99.

We have asked Cadbury if and when they will be available to buy from major retailers and will update this story when we have heard back.

It comes as a number of other Christmas-themed chocolates hit supermarket shelves months ahead of the annual event.

Asda shoppers were left in shock last month after spotting Mint Maltesers Reindeer in store, sharing the news on social media.

One said: “It’s July!!!!!”

Two others added “already?!” and “gets earlier every year I swear”.

Also last month, mince pies were found on sale at Morrisons, with customers quick to react online.

The news was shared on the Newfoodsuk page with the shopper saying: “Mince Pies are back at Morrisons!!”

One excited mince pies lover described the treats as “the best ever”, with another branding them “delicious”.

Foodies were left gobsmacked after finding boxes of Celebrations and packets of Quality Street for sale in Morrisons.

Shoppers have been rushing to buy the original Cadbury Christmas Puds from Asda too.

Last month, Quality Street chocolate tubs were spotted in Tesco‘s Newmarket branch stacked on a wooden pallet.

Although it’s far from time to hang the stockings up, one shopper pointed out they’re perfect for gifting at the end of the school year.

Commenting on a Facebook post, the buyer said: “Quality Street are for end of year teacher gifts.”

In other retail news, Kellogg’s has axed a popular breakfast cereal, with shoppers left gutted.

Meanwhile, a popular beauty brand has closed all seven of its standalone UK stores in a blow for the high street.

How to save money on chocolate

WE all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don't have to break the bank buying your favourite bar.

Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs…

Go own brand – if you’re not too fussed on flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you’ll save by going for supermarket’s own brand bars.

Shop around – if you’ve spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it’s cheaper elsewhere.

Websites like Trolley.co.uk let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you’re getting the best deal.

Look out for yellow stickers – supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they’ve been reduced.

They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best before date or the packaging is slightly damaged.

Buy bigger bars – most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.

So if you’ve got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.
