Midweek preview: Brimscombe visit highlights Tuesday home double
Royal Wootton Bassett Town host a home doubleheader on Tuesday night with the Men's First Team and Development sides both in action. In the Hellenic League Premier Division, Bassett continue their run of home fixtures as Brimscombe and Thrupp visit the Sustain Stadium (7.45pm kick off) with both teams aiming to get off the mark in the league. There's added intrigue to the fixture this year with a trio of players - Ollie Pitt, George Peare and Jonny Aitkenhead - who were with Brimscombe last year all now in Bassett colours, while Dan Hill also had a lengthy spell with the Lilywhites. After a run of one win in just twelve league games against Brimscombe, Bassett recorded a comfortable season double last season - including a 4-0 victory at home. And Sam Collier's team will be hoping for more of the same this time round. Admission is £8 for adults, £5 for concessions and free for RWBTFC youth members. Also on Tuesday the Development team entertain local rivals Blunsdon in the Wiltshire League as Mark Simpkins' side play their opening home fixture of the campaign (Gerard Buxton Sports Ground AGP, 8.15pm kick off). Admission for the Development team fixture is £4 for adults, £2 for concessions and free for RWBTFC youth members.
