‘Big Brother’ poll: Why do YOU hate Angela Murray so much?

0

After last summer’s 25th season of “Big Brother” proved to be a “Big Bore,” fans worried that the long-running reality TV show might be in a downhill spiral where contestants just want to be friends with each other and become fodder for memes. Well, that concern was quickly swept under the rug with “BB26,” and it’s all thanks to Angela Murray. This 50-year-old real estate agent from Long Beach, CA is undoubtedly the most talked-about houseguest in years … and it’s only Week 3. Fans either seem to love her or hate her, with the latter group being extremely vocal about their disgust for the so-called “villain.”

If you’re an Angela Murray hater, we want to know WHY. (For the record, I love complicated players like Angela and she keeps me glued to my TV set each and every episode, but I realize I’m in the minority on this one.) Vote in our “Big Brother” poll below and then defend your choice in the comments section. Here are four possible reasons why she’s so disliked by the “BB26” community:

1. She’s a bully.
During the first week, Angela repeatedly referred to Matt Hardeman as “crazy eyes” and a “brat” during her Head of Household reign. (Not the good kind of brat.) In the most recent eviction episode, Lisa Weintraub called her a “bully” after Angela dubbed her a “twit.” “Throughout the past two weeks, Angela has been causing chaos in the house and she has been personally bullying a lot of people, specifically bullying me since the beginning,” Lisa told host Julie Chen Moonves during her exit interview. Do you agree with Lisa that Angela is a “bully” this summer?

2. She’s too emotional.
While many of this season’s houseguests seem to be keeping their emotions in check, Angela wears her heart on her sleeve, which rubs some fans the wrong way. Case in point: during her recent live speech prior to Lisa’s eviction (watch below), she passionately told her fellow players how she wanted to stay in the house because she “loved” them so much, and even Julie broke ranks and commented on her emotions. Not a day goes by that Angela isn’t crying in a corner over something or another (remember the fallout from her “that’s the group” comment?), and some viewers have had enough.

3. She’s just there to be famous.
Angela is no stranger to appearing on television. Internet sleuths quickly discovered that she had previously popped up on “The Price is Right,” “Let’s Make A Deal” and “Dr. Phil.” Perhaps that’s why Angela is so intent on making a name for herself in the “Big Brother” house. She knows what makes great TV, and it’s all about creating ripples, not floating on them. Some fans even suspect Angela is a CBS plant who’s not actually a contestant at all … but that’s a conspiracy theory I simply can’t get on board with, sorry.

4. She won the first HOH.
Admit it: you were surprised when this middle-aged mother beat out all of the other dominant players in the game to win the Week 1 Head of Household competition. It’s not easy being a winner on “Big Brother.” People like to cheer for the underdog. Are you worried she’s going to keep dominating comps throughout the rest of the summer? Could that be why you’re not an Angela superfan?

So why do YOU hate Angela Murray so much? Would the show really be more enjoyable with her gone? Sound off down below! As of this writing, Angela’s 13 fellow “BB26” houseguests are Brooklyn Rivera, Cam Sullivan-Brown, Cedric Hodges, Chelsie Baham, Joseph Rodriguez, Kenney Kelley, Kimo Apaka, Leah Peters, Makensy Manbeck, Quinn Martin, Rubina Bernabe, T’kor Clottey and Tucker Des Lauriers.
