Love Island’s Wil reveals his ‘real name’ in new video – and fans are shocked
LOVE Island star Wil Anderson has cleared up speculation around his name – and the answer may surprise you.
The 2024 series star, who joined the show as part of a triple bombshell drop alongside Tiffany Leighton and Grace Jackson, has been baffling fans with his name and how it’s spelled.
Speaking on TikTok, Wil revealed that there was no secret to his name[/caption] The star was dumped from the villa with Uma coming out alongside him[/caption] The couple have already announced plans to move in together[/caption]On TikTok, one fan couldn’t resist asking him, and he responded by finally clearing things up once and for all.
“Ok so… I’m actually glad that this question has come up,” he said in the video.
“Yeah I used to get asked that a lot in the villa, if my name was short for anything, and they’d also ask why it was one L.
“But yeah, I can confirm to TikTok that yeah, my parents just gave me the name Wil with one L. That’s it. It’s not short for anything.”
So there you have it.
Fans responded in their droves, admitting they had their own theories on what the stars name was.
“So I have been calling you Wilfred for nothing lol,” joked one, while another wrote. “Thought it was short for Wilhelmena.”
“Lowkey thought you was gonna be called William,” noted a third, while a fourth joked: “Lol and people have been calling you Wilfred, Wilbert, William.”
“My brother is also a Wil with one L! We love the representation,” commented a fifth.
Wil lasted 25 days in the villa, before he was brutally dumped in a recoupling.
The star was given his marching orders after Reuben Collins decided to steal Uma Jammeh from him, leaving him single.
However, in a stunning twist, he didn’t leave alone, with Uma opting to quit the villa and leave with him rather than continue on without him.
Despite their on-air fight just hours before thanks to the Love Island Film Festival exposing his behaviour during Casa Amor, the pair came out hand in hand.
He seemed so touched by the move that he declared Uma his “potential wife”.
They’ve since made things “official” and remain together, even announcing plans to move in together.
They also reappeared in the villa to deliver one final dumping with a group of former islanders.
