Fire destroys car in Nicosia

A saloon car was completely destroyed by fire on Friday evening in Nicosia.

Police reported that the fire broke out at 8.30pm on Friday, while the car was parked in an open plot between Archangelos and Lakatamia.

Investigations indicated that the car belonged to a 53-year-old who had sold it a few days earlier to a 48-year-old.

The latter confirmed he had bought it and that he had parked it on July 28 in the plot, as he was unable to take it home.

The scene has been cordoned off and investigations continue to determine the exact cause of the blaze.
