TMC students' wing gheraos Calcutta University's vice-chancellor for over nine hours

TMCP students gheraoed Shanta Dutta, interim vice-chancellor of Calcutta University, for nine hours, alleging her term had expired. They claimed she continued in the role without authorization and chaired a syndicate meeting. The university authorities did not respond to the allegations. Dutta was appointed by Governor CV Ananda Bose.
