Milemarker 132 Fire prompts level 3 'Go now' evacuations near Bend, Redmond

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office announced Level 3 “Go Now” evacuation orders around 4:40 p.m. Friday as crews battle the Milemarker 132 Fire between Bend and Redmond.

The Level 3 evacuation was ordered north of Cooley in the Juniper Ridge and Cascade Village neighborhood.

The Prineville District Bureau of Land Management is in unifed command at the wildfire which began Friday afternoon.

Officials said the fire is rapidly burning and multiple aircraft have been ordered with air attack on the scene.

It is not clear how many acres the fire spans.
