One dead in multi-vehicle crash north of Topeka: KHP

SHAWNEE COUNTY (KSNT) - Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) troopers are at the scene of a crash on Highway 75 in Shawnee County which is backing up traffic.

April McCollum with the KHP told 27 News state troopers were called around 2:50 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2 to a crash involving several vehicles on Highway 75 near where it intersects with Northwest 35th Street. She said this is an active investigation.

KHP spokeswoman Candice Breshears told 27 News around 5 p.m. that one person was killed in the crash which involved three vehicles. Other injuries associated with this crash are unknown at this time.

Southbound lanes on Highway 75 were closed until around 5:15 p.m. as crews cleared debris from the crash. More information is set to be released in the near future by the KHP.
