Twin 8-year-old girls found after being reported missing from New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Twin 8-year-old girls, who were missing from New Orleans, have been found. Investigators believed the girls' mother may have taken them without legal permission.
The New Orleans Police Department reported Sofia and Alessandra Bruno were last seen in their mother's custody. 36-year-old Alejandra Gutierrez, the mother, was wanted on two counts of interference with custody of a child.
According to the NOPD, their mother is a non-custodial parent and has allegedly abducted them in the past.
The Louisiana State Police issued an Endangered/Missing Child Alert for Alessandra because she suffers from a life-threatening medical condition and didn't have the required medication she needs for it.
The girls were last seen in the New Orleans at Rock-N-Sake Sushi Bar at 823 Fulton St. on Wednesday, July 31.
Around 10:30 a.m. on Friday, the NOPD reported the three were found in good health in St. Tammany Parish.
