Schenectady Police make arrest in State Street homicide

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Schenectady Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a homicide from July 21. Corydon Carlton, 40, of Glens Falls, has been charged with second-degree murder and is being held at the Schenectady County Jail.

Schenectady Police Officers were dispatched to Imperial Motel on State Street for an unresponsive woman in room 121 on July 21 around 4:18 a.m. Police officers secured the scene and attempted life-saving measures, but the woman, later identified as 49-year-old Renee Stratton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Renee's death was later considered suspicious and through investigation, police say it was determined that she died from blunt force injuries.
