Be prepared for road work on election day in Topeka

0

TOPEKA (KSNT) - Shawnee County Election Commissioner Andrew Howell published a press release ahead of the primary election on Tuesday, Aug. 6.

Howell cautioned Shawnee County residents to familiarize themselves with routes to polling places ahead of voting day. An email was sent to local media outlets advising of road construction near polling places on the Primary Election day.

Howell said the recent round of storms, water main breaks and planned and unplanned construction projects means direct routes to your polling place might not be available.

On the Primary's election day, people must vote at their assigned neighborhood polling place. Voting hours are between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. If you have an advance mail-in ballot you can turn it into any polling place on election day before 7 p.m.

To find your polling place, click here or call the Shawnee County Election Office at 785-251-5900.
