Big Ten’s ‘Maps’ promotion is back and bigger than ever
College football is almost here friends, and we have a new ‘Maps’ for the season ahead
Football is just around the corner, both at the professional level, as well as the collegiate game.
Thursday brought the NFL’s annual Hall of Fame Game, as the Chicago Bears took on the Houston Texans in Canton, Ohio at Tom Benson Field. But as the NFL preseason games get underway, college football’s Week 0 is also just weeks away, with the first games kicking off on August 24.
This will be a transformative college football season, with the debut of the 12-team playoff system as well as conference realignment in both the Big Ten, the ACC, and elsewhere.
One thing that has not changed too much, other than some new schools, is the Big Ten’s “Maps” promotion. A handy visual description of the schools in the conference, with a “Game of Thrones” feel and some incredible references to the various schools and their traditions, the “Maps” promotion has been a staple of Big Ten games in recent years.
Now that promotion has been updated and released for the 2024 college football season, with some incredible additions. From the Oregon Duck to the “Hollywood” sign and everything in between, the new edition of “Maps” illustrates just how expansive the new Big Ten is:

They even brought back “Silver Lining” by Guards from earlier installments of the animation, much to the appreciation of fans from coast to coast.
Thank GOD they kept the song

Yes, there are some quick cuts, given the land they need to cover to get from the West Coast up to the New York City area. And sure it might not be exactly to scale.
But it is beautiful, and another sign that fall is coming, and so too is football.
