SC asks UPSC to conduct fresh medical test of candidate discarded in 2014 on grounds of obesity
Nearly a decade after being deemed "temporarily unfit" for a civil servant position due to obesity, the Supreme Court intervened, ordering the UPSC to conduct a fresh medical examination for Rakshit Shivam Prakash, who ranked 93 in the civil services exam in 2014. The court utilised its powers under Article 142, granting a limited relief by rescheduling Prakash's medical test.
