Gloversville men arrested in stolen trailer, truck investigation

JOHNSTOWN, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Two Gloversville men were arrested following a stolen truck and trailer investigation out of Johnstown. Alex Gonzalez, 40, and Percy Allen, 48, each were charged with third-degree grand larceny.

On May 13, around 4:06 p.m., state police received a complaint regarding a stolen pickup truck with an attached trailer from a Johnstown business. After an investigation, police say they found Gonzalez and Percy stole both the previous afternoon. The trailer was found near Turkey Farm Road in Mayfield on May 15.

State Police say on May 20, the Hudson Falls Police Department stopped the stolen pickup truck, which Allen was driving. He was taken into custody for possession of the stolen vehicle.

Gonzalez was held at the Fulton County Correctional Facility on an unrelated matter. He was taken to Mayfield State Police on June 6 for processing. He was returned to the facility to await arraignment.

On Thursday, Allen was taken to the Washington County Correctional Facility where he was still held after an arrest on May 20. He was taken to Mayfield State Police for processing. He was arraigned at the Johnstown Town Court where he pleaded guilty to petit larceny and was sentenced to 179 days in jail. Police say he was brought to the Fulton County Correctional Facility where he will serve his sentence.
