Coronation Street’s Ellie Leach hits back at cruel troll who says she ‘looks pregnant’ in holiday snaps
CORONATION Street’s Ellie Leach had the perfect response to a vicious comment on her holiday pics.
The Strictly Come Dancing 2023 winner has been taking some time away from the UK and enjoying a trip to Tenerife.
Sharing pictures from her trip, Ellie looked stunning in a white sundress as she embraced the sunny city.
Another showed her enjoying a glass of wine at the fancy Limonella Restaurant, beaming at the person behind the camera.
However, one troll took it upon themselves to try and dampen her spirit, commenting that she “looked pregnant” in one of her photos.
Rather than be torn down, Ellie took aim at the fat-shaming commenter with an expert comeback.
Sharing the comment onto her Instagram Stories, alongside the picture of her smiling on her trip, Ellie responded: “That’s what two weeks of eating ham and cheese toasties on the balcony will do to you babes”.
The comment was quickly found by fans on the picture, who backed Ellie up to slam the man who lists his job as “an established mental health trainer”.
His Instagram account is private.
“Disgusting comment to make considering what you claim to do for mental health, try teaching yourself some natural empathy!!! [Ellie] you are beautiful,” wrote one.
“what an utterly revolting comment to make to anyone, especially Ellie, quite simply grow up, and leave your snide comments where they belong, in the gutter!!!!” said another.
“no we’re not doing that, we’re not commenting on women’s bodies, this 2024 not 1924 ,” said a third.
While a fourth added: “You are meant to be an advocate for mental health!!! And look at you, tearing down a person who is so gorgeous, kind and positive. You ought to be reported to your bosses.”
Ellie has been thriving over the past year, following her victory on Strictly with pro partner Vito Coppola.
She joined the BBC dance series after she left her role as Faye Windass on Corrie after 13 years, starting the role when she was 10.
Ellie later admitted the idea of leaving the show was “terrifying” but proved to be a “blessing in disguise”.
She followed this up with the Strictly tour, during which time she grew close to co-star Bobby Brazier.
While their relationship didn’t pan out, she has remained close with the girls of the Strictly cast, enjoying dinners with them and nights out.
