Katie Price sends warning to anyone who buys her Mucky Mansion after it’s listed for £1.5m
KATIE Price has sent potential buyers of her £1.5million “Mucky Mansion” a chilling warning after years of issues with the property.
The 46-year-old glamour model has been open about her ongoing problems with the West Sussex mansion, which has included elements falling into disrepair, and becoming convinced the home is haunted.
Katie previously admitted thinking the home was haunted[/caption] Amid a string of financial issues, the bankrupt star foreclosed on her home[/caption]Evicted from the home due to her ongoing bankruptcy issues, Katie was targeted by thugs in the week’s running up to her leaving, with intruders even throwing a corrosive, acid-like substance on her Pink Range Rover as it was parked in the driveway.
The site had also been targeted by fly-tippers who dumped so much on the property that Katie was clapped with an £800k charge to get it removed.
Now it has gone up for sale, with Katie saying she was “glad to be rid” of the home.
Speaking ahead of the listing going live, Katie said: “I hate that house. Whoever buys it, I warn them, they will get bad luck there.
“It is absolutely cursed. My anxiety got worse with that house. There was a point when I couldn’t even walk up the driveway without having a panic attack.”
Adding she even had therapy as a result of her stress connected to the house, Katie said: “I had therapy about the house.
“I should never have gone back there. Now I’m out of it, it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.”
Estate agents H.J Burt are now asking for offers of around £1.5million, telling potential buyers the pad could be flipped into an “impressive family house” after refurbishment.
The house boasts three reception rooms, nine bedrooms and four bath/shower rooms spread over three floors plus a one-bedroom annexe.
However, the swimming pool and tennis court on the grounds need full renovation, with the pool having fencing around it to prevent accidents.
There’s also notable damage and disrepair both in and outside the home.
This includes kitchen cupboards being pulled out, the media wall Katie installed being pulled off, and paint needing redoing on the outside walls.
Katie moved into the home 10 years ago, and in 2022 she attempted to clean up the property on Channel 4 series titled Katie Price: Mucky Mansion.
It comes as the mum swerved the court date for her bankruptcy hearing earlier this week – instead deciding to jet on holiday to Turkey with her new man.
Katie Price - FOUR recent court battles
KATIE Price has had her fair share of brushes with the law. Here we detail four of those:
- December 2021: Katie avoided jail for flipping her BMW in a smash in Horsham, while under the influence of drink and drugs. She was instead handed a 16-week prison sentence suspended for a year, 100 hours community service and ordered to attend 20 rehab sessions.
- The cash-strapped mum-of-five was first declared bankrupt in 2019 in a bankruptcy court, over unpaid debts of £3.2 million
- Katie was declared bankrupt by a bankruptcy court for a second time in March over an unpaid tax bill of £761,994.05
- May 2024: Katie was served an eviction notice by the courts relating to her Mucky Mansion home following her second bankruptcy.
Katie then insisted she was “going to enjoy” her sun-soaked getaway despite the court judge then issuing a warrant for her arrest.
Judge Catherine Burton said Katie has so far failed to make the payments ordered by the court.
She was previously ordered to pay a one-off payment of £25,000, followed by monthly instalments of £12,500.
The £25,000 bill has now been ordered by the court to be paid immediately, and instructed to sell her cars after failing to pay creditors in an attempt to lessen some of her debts.
On Katie’s drive sits a Volkswagen Beetle, a Nissan Elgrand, a black Range Rover Vogue, a pink one, a Suzuki Vitara and an Infiniti FX50 – amounting to a whopping £280k.
Katie Price's missing millions
At the peak of her career Katie had an estimated fortune of £45m, thanks to her lucrative modelling career, book deals, and TV appearances.
The cash-strapped mum-of-five was first declared bankrupt in 2019 over unpaid debts of £3.2 million.
In a podcast interview earlier this year, she blamed her exes who include Peter Andre, Alex Reid and Kieran Hayler and lawyers for her money woes.
She insisted that funding her exes’ lavish lifestyles with cars, watches, luxury holidays and homes left her finances in tatters.
She added: “I went through a breakdown, this is how mine started – lawyers and exes, that is my bankruptcy thing.
“And obviously a bit of HMRC.
“When I had my breakdown, if anyone has been depressed… I don’t know if you’ve ever had depression.
“It starts with depression and you just want to sleep all day and not talk to anyone, the phone would ring and you wouldn’t answer it.’
In March, Katie was declared bankrupt for a second time over an unpaid tax bill of £761,994.05.
The demand for payment was made by HMRC last October.
Katie was due to give evidence about her finances at the High Court but failed to turn up – holidaying in Cyprus with her new man JJ Slater instead.
Her Mucky Mansion was a bomb site for years after it was burgled, flooded and swamped by an overflowing septic tank.
She finally moved out at the end of May and is renting a four-bed mansion in Sussex.
