First of three home games in seven days
THE Seagulls play the first of three testing home games in the space of seven days when they face Cymru Premier side Aberystwyth Town in the Nathanial MG Cup on Saturday (August 3rc, 2:30pm kick-off).
That is followed by league games against last season’s Cymru North champions Holywell Town, who beat Prestatyn Town 6-0 in their opening league fixture, next Tuesday evening (7:45pm) and then Llay Welfare visit the 4 Crosses Arena on Friday (August 9, 7:45pm).
They should should be three good games against strong opposition and the Bay will need the support of the fans as they look to bounce back from last week’s 4-0 home defeat to Bangor 1876.
This will be Aberystwyth’s first competitive game of the campaign after completing their pre-season programme with two good wins.
Manager Anthony Williams has retained the majority of last season’s squad, while Harry Arnison and Niall Flint have both returned to the club after a year away from Park Avenue.
The two club’s last meeting was in March when Zac Hartley scored a 92nd minute in a 2-1 win for Aberystwyth which was a huge result in keeping Aberystwyth in the top flight and sending the Seagulls down.
