White House needs just 3 words to smack down Nancy Mace after she calls Biden 'MIA'

0

The White House didn't hold back when responding to South Carolina Republican Rep. Nancy Mace, who attacked him on the social media site X on Thursday.

Mace went on the attack about an hour after it was announced that President Joe Biden's White House negotiated a prisoner swap to bring home three Americans and one Green Card holder imprisoned by Russia — a move heralded by USA Today as "the largest prisoner swap since the Cold War."

"Biden is MIA," Mace wrote, meaning "Missing In Action."

She asked, "Why is no one talking about it?"

Mace's comment drew mockery online by those glued to the news about journalists Evan Gershkovich and Alsu Kurmasheva, along with former U.S. Marine Paul Whelan and Vladimir Putin critic and Washington Post contributor Vladimir Kara-Murza.

The White House held a news conference with the families, during which Biden announced the release. They also received a briefing from National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.

Photos have also been released showing the prisoners holding up an American flag after being released as well as photos of them on the plane home.

The White House team responded to Mace with a photo of Biden and the prisoners' families in the Oval Office on a speakerphone talking for the first time.

"He’s been busy," the account said, sharing a post from Biden celebrating the freedom of the prisoners.
